Within the Jiu-Jitsu community, people from all backgrounds come together to become better versions of themselves.<\/h5>\n

We can only achieve our highest selves within a community. We need the alternative lenses, the support, and accountability that a community provides to fully actualize ourselves in our unique way. Jiu-Jitsu delivers the specific community that an individual needs to grow. This is, perhaps, the most immediately tangible benefit of BJJ training.<\/p>\n

So, here are a few reasons why we try our best to keep a very inspiring environment at our school:<\/p>\n

#1 The Social Contagious Effect<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Jiu-Jitsu school is a place where people from all walks of life come together to learn this art. We are all seeking something different from our time in this art, but we are all seeking something. It is this seeking which unites us. This is one of the core aspects of any academy: it’s a place where we pursue individual goals as a collective.<\/p>\n

#2 Social Support<\/strong><\/p>\n

Life is hard. Even when our lives are awesome, life is hard.<\/em><\/p>\n

Our Jiu-Jitsu school is an extended family, one in which we all meet on the common ground of Jiu Jitsu to foster meaningful relationships. It’s amazing how we connect and learn from people we otherwise would have never met.<\/p>\n

In being a member of a tribe, we are constantly held in check, ensuring we do not deviate too far from our ideal. When we do, it is our peer group which reminds us of where we want to go and the fact that we are heading somewhere else.<\/p>\n

#3 Social Science<\/strong><\/p>\n

One of the most rewarding aspects of being a student in a Jiu-Jitsu school is that you have access to philosophies so different from your own. We are all so confined by the nature of subjective experience that if we are not constantly reminded of the perspectives and beliefs of others, we will come to believe that our way is the way, rather than a way.<\/p>\n

Jiu-Jitsu provides us with the varied perspectives that allow us to calibrate our own better.<\/em><\/p>\n

Those are just a few reasons why the support of our BJJ community can change your life. There are many others. But all of them take us to the same road: a journey where we learn from each other and grow together.<\/p>\n
