! – Train on a consistent basis<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n We know, it\u2019s obvious. Sorry, but this is THE MOST important action you can take to improve your BJJ quickly. Don\u2019t train too little, don\u2019t train too much. It could be twice a week, 3x, 4x. Be consistent and train smart.<\/p>\n\n\n\n 2 – Ask questions<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Having trouble getting the technique right? Are you not sure when and how to use it? Just TALK TO YOUR COACH. Try to truly understand Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and it\u2019s power.<\/p>\n\n\n\n 3 – Set goals<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Goal setting can put you on a path where you feel you\u2019re making real progress. Plateaus are easier to break through when you see how each day is getting you closer to your big-picture goals. You can make a list of the things you want to accomplish in 6 months (number of stripes, for instance), in 1 year, in 5 years, and so on.<\/p>\n\n\n\n 4 – Improve your health and strengthen your body<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n It\u2019s pretty obvious. Our body is a machine. The more you take good care of it, the better it will respond.<\/p>\n\n\n\n 5 – Drill, drill, and drill!<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n The best athletes in the world all have something in common: they spend thousands of hours drilling and practicing techniques outside of practice. Including BJJ athletes. So, keep this in mind: drilling is one of the best things you can do to improve your jiu-jitsu.<\/p>\n\n\n\n 6 – Take private classes<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n This is one of the most efficient and pleasant ways to rise above your training plateaus. You will gain a better understanding of specific areas of your BJJ game flow and get individual attention to work them out.
