Le jiu-jitsu brésilien est-il bon pour la perte de poids ?

Is BJJ good for weight loss

We hear all the time stories about how people have transformed their bodies – and their lives – by starting Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. People who have gotten more confident, lost weight and seriously increased their energy.

To anyone who has ever tried BJJ, this is unsurprising. Every time a student steps on the mat they know they will learn a lot, have fun and sweat it out. One of our students once said: “It’s a great workout. It’s not like when you are at the gym and have to convince yourself to push those weights, here, you have no choice. You need to give your best and be strong to avoid being submitted.”

In fact, the jiu-jitsu lifestyle means more than just being able to arm lock an opponent.

So, answering the question in the title, YES, BJJ is great for weight loss. Jiu-Jitsu is a physical sport, where you will burn a lot of calories through floor work, grappling, and working on techniques.

With a practice such as Jiu-Jitsu, a twice-weekly commitment can greatly improve your health and mental focus as you learn new techniques and move the body in unfamiliar ways. These new ways of moving the body will increase flexibility and strength, improving health along the way.

If getting fit and have more energy is what you are looking for, be sure to also join our Barra Fit classes, a high intensity fitness program that keeps your heart rate up and burns more fat in less time. It will also help in you jiu-jitsu game, since the moves are all self-defense inspired.

So, get to the mat and get moving!
